American Bridal was awarded the 2007 Retailer of the Year Award for the Western Region of the United States by the U.S. Department of Commerce. American Bridal received this award based upon its number of employees, sales, its use of technology and the hiring of minority workers. The competition for the Western region included Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon and Washington.
Shirley Tan, CEO accepted the award on behalf of American Bridal. In her acceptance speech, she acknowledged that any achievements of American Bridal were a result of the hard work and dedication of the family at American Bridal.
The employees of American Bridal receive a living wage, paid sick leave, paid vacation, medical insurance, education classes and a matching 401(k) contribution.
